How becomes a introduction thread to a discussion like that. oh well anyways, Welcome on board and i kow a few very good working breeders here in the US too. I got my girl from one and i couldn't be more happy, she already kicks serious butt and i would be carefull with getting a dog from overseas, because no breeder will send you the best of the best from there, so i heard. HEHEHEHEHE

I did not see the necropsy report, did you? Maybe I'm worried because I inquired about littermates who have also expired suddenly. However he passed, it's a tragic loss but after being an LVT for 8 years in an area where close to 50% of our clients test + for a tick born disease and 35% of those have required treatment or even hospitalization, not one has dropped dead from the infections. Are there clinical reports of dogs going into CA from endocarditis brought about by Erlichiosis, yes, are they rare, very. Am I shocked when a young (esp male) Dobe drops dead, sadly no. I know many breeders are doing their best to health test & select their stock accordingly, nobody has a crystal ball as to how those breedings will pan out health wise, all you can do is try to stack the deck in your favor. I have LOTS of homework to do. While it maybe rare it does happen, and as you have said yourself 35% of the dogs required treatment and/or hospitalization. As far as I know with Gio it was discovered very late and he was not hospitalized until it was to late. In regards to litter mates that "expired suddenly" I know of one that just died of cancer. Gio has/had 7 litter mates who are 9 years old, I believe two are dead. Anyways I'm not here to try and get you to buy a puppy from Vicky..lol! You already said you have passed them by. It's hard to find a puppy it seems that doesn't have health problems fairly close up in a pedigree. I guess it's a matter of what your willing to live with or take the chance with. Good luck in your search!
