doctors do not believe in much. but I tested four males one of them is 11 years. and 4 females. I want to use them soon. my vet will have results soon. I believe most in the knowledge the breeder has to have. in 35 years as a breeder I know which line to stay away. especially as breeders and judges know the key. matter much if you are inside the circle. I hope you understand.

How are you testing? The DNA test?? I know what lines and dogs to stay away from, and discovering more and more. And there is not much left that I realize.

no offense but I will certainly rely more on DNA test results than any breeder's experience regardless how long they may have been breeding. Afterall doing something a long time does not mean it has been done well. It is certainly possible to do something badly for a long long time.
Looking forward to move results from this amazing breakthrough

I noticed that in North America should not have had a Doberman to be a specialist of the race. it is enough if you've seen some photos on the Internet and in two minutes you know Dobermann breed. I hope not to offend the truth. Florin Niculescu

Thats why DNA test is the only impartial method available. No matter how much a breeder may think thier lines are clear, a DNA test will show the truth. Those that avoid science avoid the truth and hope "experience" will hide the truth

I have nothing against the DNA test. but no test in the world can not replace the personal experience of a breeder for 35 years. as I said I wish you much success in your search.

Pretty sure the VWd test did replace the 35 years experience of a breeder. Hopefully the DCM test will do the same.

Gut feelings are important as are expeirence. But if im looking to buy a puppy from someone that doesnt utilise every avenue possible to ensure that every possible measure has been exhausted to ensure the health of my pup then i would simply go somewhere else.
A person that does not do the same has not got the breeds full interest at heart. The dna test is for only one of the mutations and the results are not a guarantee that your dog will not get dcm but it shows that you are doing all you can to be a responsible breeder. Pride and arrogence is not an excuse to avoid doing this test.

now they can find out what genes has mutations and repair the genes or have an vaccine that conteracts the mutation genes they could use a embryole from a dobermann that has the mutations then get 1 without the mutations and use those genes to reapir the mutations. they been cloning cows for awhile.

At least we have workingdogs out of KNPV lines. Let's wait for the testresults of your dogs and I wish they are free

The Veterinary Cardiac Testing Lab has posted the first test results. The list & results so far can be seen here www.vetmed.wsu.edu/deptsVCGL/doberman/TestResults.aspx *MODERATOR EDIT* now I will invent the Dobermann of those with this line of work. I wish you a lot of success and healthy working dogs. This post is malicious. Take this as your first and only warning. Any further posts of this nature will be deleted and you could potentially be banned. At least this person has the ball to actually test their dog, kudos to them. Tamara McIntosh
