Hello,
I have not been here in a while. My girl is 5 months old now, a very good girl. I had a Boston Terrier female that died recently, so now I'd like to get a buddy for Zero. Zero is not "doggy" at all, she prefers my company over anyone else. But it would be nice for her to have a friend to pal around with. I would like to get a second male puppy from a litter that will not be ready until the beginning of July (not to breed them). So, Zero will be about 8 months old. Is that okay in your opinions? I know that is twice the dogs, twice the work, etc. I know all that. But do you think it would be extremely horrible? Ppl refer me to articles written by Ed Frawley about why two puppies is a bad idea, but I'm not too impressed with Ed Frawley's methods as a practical way to raise a working dog. He doesn't even allow anyone else to touch his dog (at all, not even his wife/girlfriend). I understand his logic and support his opinions as he has been doing it for a long time, but it is not feasible for me to raise my dog that way. Thoughts? I'll probably end up doing it anyway, but if anyone has tips/suggestions, please share. Thanks!!!

Be careful about what you read on the Leerburg site. There is a LOT of information there but it isn't up to date. There are lot of 20 years old articles and videos offering suggestions that not even Ed Frawley uses anymore. The advise about raising two puppies together is for litter mates or puppies closer in age. On the other hand, if you spend time with your puppy and do fun things (engagement)? She will not need another dog for companionship. There are good reasons to have more then one dog. So they keep each other company isn't one of them :-)
