Cross posted from 'Save the Dobermann Breed!' from FB: AN IMPORTANT BREAKTHROUGH!! Bitten Jönsson have developed a test that have now been adopted by the The Dobermann Breed Council in the UK. Bitten's test measures levels of lactate levels in Dobermanns and offers a high probability answer to whether the dogs is most likely to develope DCM or not. Due to the test being recommended from 12 months of age this is perfect for breeders to adopt as 'Best Practice' in their breeding programmes. Bitten has been relying on this test for over 20 years, resulting ZERO DCM incidents in her breeding and now this test is available for everyone through The Dobermann Breed Council. I encourage everyone to send samples to The Dobermann Breed Council and read more about this here: www.dobermannbreedcouncil.co.uk/troponin.htmlWith over 20 years of zero DCM breeding results, I would HIGHLY ENCOURAGE everyone SPECIALLY breeders to take this test. Please share and cross-post! Read more: thedobermannstation.com/index.cgi?board=testing&action=display&thread=310#ixzz1Vam0D0Ux

Ayman is a big speaker .... 1: I have not developed any DCM test - I have proposed a new biomarker, which have been accepted, and testing have now started in the UK. 2: Need to correct the working of "not having had DCM incidents" should be - we have to our knowledge not had any DCM incidents since 1996.

It is fantastic that the UK is now offering this test, too.
Munich (Dr. Wess) has been doing this test for years as part of the examination (ultrasound + EKG, 24-hour EKG, blood panel including thyroid and troponin).
Bitten, please tell us more about the proposed test.
