Just saw on the USA front page that USA is possibly going to offer the ZTP for the Dobermann. When I called to ask them about it. I was told that it may be adopted into the program this coming year. If so ZTP would be offered at any USA trial. The host club would just have to find a certified judge. Still lots in the works, but sounds like we might be getting another option for ZTP in the states!!! Has any one else heard about this?

Scott That would be great news, but I am a bit stumped why a GSD organization would offer a ztp for dobermann's?

That's exactly what I thought when I saw it on the wed-site. I guess we'll hold our breath for now. Why wouldn't you offer it if you have the judge there anyway? I'm sure USA needs money like any other business. This sure gets them a pat on the back from me(assuming it happens). Would be nice to see them go to all breed national events. Not just regional. Didn't they used to offer it that way in the past?

Sorry to spoil the party,....But it's NOT a ZTP for dobermanns. Its a easier sch1 ....... ZTP...... Tracking - basically the same as SchH1 Obedience - is a SchH1 routine without the retrieve over the scaling wall and no send out Protection - is direct send to the “Find” Blind, bark and Hold, Pick up may be done by holding the dog by the collar and Helper leaves the blind. Attack on Handler with stick hits (same as breed survey or old SchH 1) , Attack on Handler and Dog which is where the Helper walks away from the dog and at 40 paces turns and attacks and the dog is released like the current “Attack Out of Motion” or Courage Test/ Long Bite ( www.germanshepherddog.com/ look to the right(in pink) scroll down to New IPO Rules Overview, click the link to view the rule discussion) Heres a direct link www.germanshepherddog.com/documents/IPO_2012.pdf(the direct link also includes the new IPO rules) Mitch .

That blows!!! There goes that idea. Oh well. TO ME, a schutzhund3 title is more important than a ZTP anyway. Or at least for my personal goals.
