I just wanted to add that I am saddened to hear that Karo is off the market, so to speak. There aren't that many good dogs to breed to here.
I also am curious as to why?

Hello, My name is Christopher Frank.I am the Handler -Owner-Trainer of Karo. Karo turned 7 years old on June 06 of this year 2011 . Karo was not collected as a young dog. Karo is now nearly infertile. I apologize to anyone who was considering him as a stud. I will also no longer be a part of this board, thank you for having me.

Hi Chris, I don't know how you had Karo collected to analyze his sperm but I have found out through collections of my own dog that collections differ very significantly, depending on how the dog is collected (bitch in heat present, etc.) and who is doing the collection. If you want to pm me I can tell you more of my experiences. msfaifer at gmail dot com Melody

Chris, I too am sorry to hear this. I also agree that a double check with another vet might be in order. I knew a dog on the first semen check to have poor motility and poor numbers. A week later (and with a bitch in heat), all was good to go.

That is sad. I agree, you can have it double checked from another vet. There might still be hope of bringing Karo back.
