Hello!
I am originally from Brazil, currently based in the UK where my training experience has been in the security/police dog industry. While I've always wanted to work with dobermanns the shepherds are the preferred breed in the industry so that is where most of my experience lies. I will soon be relocating to California, where I'm hoping to get into the sporting scene (either schutzhund or mondio) and I will definitely be taking on a dobermann! I've joined the forum in the hopes of gaining advice on reliable breeders and clubs in the area as I am completely unfamiliar with the US working dog world.

Hey! I'll be in LA County for the most part. I did see that the Southern California Schutzhund Club was in the area, but I would much prefer to get into mondioring if you know any good places?

I don't know if there is a club. Our CA people will be able to tell you). IMHO Michael Ellis is the trainer to go with. He is further north though - San Francisco area. Here is his website: www.loupsdusoleil.com I'm sure he can point you in the right direction as well. |

Welcome to the forum from San Diego! I train in a FR club but we also train some MR so drop me a line if you would like to come visit or just have a dober play date  In LA its hard to beat OJ Knighton and his K9 Coach club for MR. ojk9coach.com/k9club.htmAlso check out scabr.training4dogz.com/ Southern California All Breed Ringers. Hi Vadim! I'm sure I'll be in and out of San Diego, but I'm not sure it will be frequent enough for me to train with the club. However it would be great to meet sometime!! Unfortunately I'll only be looking to get a dog later in the year (around September) and I'm assuming I'll have to wait a while for a desired litter. Any breeder recommendations??
I've heard of OJ before, so I'll definitely be looking into his club.
Also thanks Cornelia for pointing out that Michael Ellis' school is in San Francisco!! We watched quite a few of his videos when we were training!

Hi Tatiana, Sorry for the delay in my response. In most cases chatroom issues can be resolved by updating the JAVA on your computer. Try this link java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and pic your operating system for an update Others have had success by dowloading another free browser like Firefox or Google Chrome.
