Well Patrick - we have talked about this before, and you know my opinion - times are changing and tests just as trial requirements are being ammended.

I'm sorry that was a educational video patrick, and you shoulding be bashing it at all.
The point was to show how to NOT train your dog-right?
*headdesk* Seriously now, thats retarded. I know nothing about the sport and you call that a long bite? what was with the bad grip/letting go/ regrip/going after the helper when its not the time to, the dog looks like it has zero obedience/running into the stands..wait was that supposed to be a long bite?I'm not watching anymore.
If I got anything wrong up there, please tell me!

Cassandra this ain't a trainingvideo or trail...This is a so called ztp-test a breedingcertificate to see if you're dog is suitable to breed. Some of those dogs got a ztp certificate so I believe that the certificate has lost a lot of it's value....If a dog doesn't out how can a judge comment about his guarding which is a part of his nerves and stability...How can a judge comment on a dog on a "attack out of the blind" if the handler i still holding the leash and run together with the dog after the helper because the dog is fully supported in that way...... I hope I made myself clear..it's not ment for bashing it's just one big embarresment sorry...

Hi Patrick,
I also agree with your concern over the ZTP. To me it comes down to this.. I participate with my dog in protection sports and he is titled. The work that is done, even in a mondio ring 1 (or a sch 1) is a higher degree of work than is accepted in the ZTP. If a dog is proving to do a higher degree of work in a sport venue, than the basic breeding test, to me this is a better indication of the dogs drives than the ztp itself.
However here in North America we are not restricted by governmental breeding regulations and so we can make these types of decisions.
The change needs to come from the top down I believe, and until the DV starts to actively look into the process it will never change and will continue to be watered down to the detriment of the breed.
The people that are active in protection sports get smaller and smaller and as a result those that get qualified to give out these certifications get less and less knowledgable.

I agree with Tamara..
I feel like alot of people who used to be very into Dobermanns are just not in it anymore because
of politics, opinions and grudges between an already small group of people seriously interested in Improving and and maintaining what a working dobermann is .
