Folks,
I am a newbie to the dobie world and have recently begun research into working dobies, their drives etc.
Came across quite a bit of working kennels like Burgstaette,Aurachgrund, Edertal, Weyermuhle, Jotunheim, Warringhof, Ascomannis,Mooreiche,Bayern,Briskas ( the major european ones), while Landgraf and Wustensturm are the US ones etc.
Came across Aritaur (UK) and some russian ones like Irinland, Von Hollantiefe (france), Luna Scura ( N.Ireland), Von Liston (australia) etc
I am now getting a good overall idea of the possible kennels but have a few questions which I hope will be answered thru this forum:
1) How do the drives differ in the above kennels ( assuming all are for work)?
2) I believe Aritaur publishes complete health reports on their dogs mainly cardio which is causing a problem in almost all lines.
Don't the renowned european kennels publish any health tests particularly cardio? How do they ensure longevity?
3) How are puppy buyers screened for all of these kennels? I ask this as I am a newbie having only owned an indigenous guardian breed but will be totally commited to the dobie .
However there is a drawback.India does not have schutzhund clubs and so is there a possibility of these kennels placing their pup in such a situation? ( assuming I'd like to focus on PPD---the main functionality of the dobe--is it possible to train the dog with limited resources?)---for that matter there are no obedience schools also, if they are they are few and far in between.
In such a scenario, any suggestions which kennels I should be looking at? I believe if I have to visit in person then obviously Europe or UK would be closer home.
I have started my research my reading stuff on the leerburg forum and will be obtaining some books listed on the aritaur site as well and will be obtaining some dvd's from Leerburg in due course.
My main priorities are good working ability,longevity and conformation ( in that order).

P.S: The internet is my only resource for dobies as there are no training clubs,schutzhund clubs ( yeah unfortunately!) in India, so am relying on all of your expert opinions and advice.
