What do you prefer in the conformation of your working Dobermann? What can be improved on? I'm talking everything from color to bone structure. No temperament or working drive taken into consideration.

Small end of the weight spectrum, but not too short. I haven't ever had a male dobie, only females (small end at 55-63#). The leggiest dobe was the best jumper, over the short tank build one. My mals are males and I prefer the 70# leggy one to the 85# stocky guy. The jumps are so much easier on the smaller one and the entries to the bite are easier on him as well.

I like an efficient mover. A dog that covers ground effortlessly. So no overdone angles. Super straight makes the gait too choppy, over angulated makes the gait energy consuming.

Shorter thicker necks. A long thin neck may be "gracefull" or "pretty" but a shorter thick neck should be less prone to injury. Plus IMHO it looks better anyway.

I'd like my Dobermanns with short legs, so they can't run so fast. Moderately overweight so it's more difficult for them jump up and knock me flat Long floppy ears cause I Hate to post and repost ears Long tail so I have something to grab on to when they run by :-)
