Just curious if anyone on here trains for SAR.
I am looking at a different areas to train in and have heard SAR is time consuming. I would like to learn more about it since its hard to find a good starting point.
Please let me know if you have any tips or starting places for beginners!
Thx!

I would find a local SAR group in your area and talk with them. I'm also a newbie and it was definitely faster just going straight to a source. The group I plan on working with C.A.E.S.A.R. has the following on their website.
"Each of our members and their canine partners are required to spend more than 20 hours each month training with the team utilizing various scenarios to simulate what might be seen in the field. Before being approved for deployment, each canine/handler team must be tested and certified in their specific search function (trailing, air scent, water rescue, cadaver). In addition, team members participate in a variety of regional and national seminars with well-known canine and search and rescue instructors. "
