Thanks for those tips ,I especially liked Vadims tip on patience, sometimes you see a video clip of someone doing something remarkable with a really young pup, and I then think 'My god I am useless ,my dog is not up to that standard' Now I shall step back and not worry so much and ENJOY! It is not a race ,well said. Do people work to any type of time frame or just allow the pup to develop? Thanks Lynn

Thanks Lynn Lynn, We all start somewhere, and most do not get to the highest level with their first dog. Do not get down on yourself! I try to video a good deal of my work, and even still I go back and look at my handling with previous dogs or even my current dog, and think, jeez! How does my dog ever learn anything??? It is all about progression forward. Is how I handle/train my dog today improved from 6 months ago? From yesterday? No I do not have a timeline when I train my dogs/puppies. There is no race to the finish line, no special prize for being the youngest. I would rather my dog be mature enough to progress and be able to handle the pressure in a confident manner, than the force the dog to handle something he is not ready for. However if the dog is capable we progress. Tamara McIntosh

thanks Tamara I like the idea of progression and looking back to see if I have, as long as you are going in the right direction it is ok. Must relax more, just want to be better. Lynn
