A friend's friend keeps her updated on interesting Russian Dobe news and so she sent this on to me after seeing Caper's video. Her friend provided the following info: Dmitry Petrov of Moscow, Russia and his dogs Sant Creal Jewel and SLihobor Leveyt(not sure about spelling of the 2nd dog's name) took a first place in the Championship of Russia competition of the dog's sleigh race.
LOVE those harnesses! Where do I get one for Caper's higher education!? Traci Mulligan Rebholzer Dobermans Elegance United With Working Ability~since 1973. www.rebholzerdobermans.comAttachments:

I love this photo - thank you for posting it! It's wonderful to see a versatile breed paired with imaginative handling - looks like a great time for all involved.

If he enjoys it i would think about putting him in for his ad. I seem to recall there was actually a Doberman Lead dog some years ago. Not sure if it was in the Iditarod or the team just got press because of the Top Dobe. I think you should go for it, have some fun and exercise the dogs at the same time! Dennis Helm used to regularly train/condition his Panda von Dynasty in weight pulling and did a demo at one of the UDC nationals.

Do they really? Could 1 dog pull it? Is it really hard to train a dog to pull one? What a great way to excercise your dog. Lynn

Hey Lynn Yea if you go on www.snowpawstore.com/You can buy 1-2 dog rigs. Thats how we race our huskies or indeed any dog in the uk ( or anywhere without snow) My male Koda weighs 25 kg and pulls me along on my push bike like a bolt of lightning! If you scroll through these pics my 2 huskies are toward the end. My friend is a dog photographer and she took some great pics at our local park. its titled fen lane park www.love-my-dog.co.uk/#/galleries/4538511792They are so Boooootyfull! Kareem

Hi, can you scoot on any terrain or does it have to be smooth? I am going to order the book thanks even if he is ruined for schutzhund perhaps he could do this. More my thing as have driven ponies a couple of times and loved it. Can you go on courses or do you just have to work it out? Thanks Lynn

It really depends on you. We use a scooter for paths/roads or our cycle for the more rugged stuff (pluss you get to sit down ). What you must remember is every now and again you have to help the dog especially if they are on their own. That is easilly achieved on the cycle/scooter. Some of the big teams use tricycle rigs and some even use quad bikes and remove the engines. The book is really good. Be carefull tho. like schutzhund its addictive! Have fun! Kareem

I looked on the photo link, what fantastic pictures and your dogs are stunning. I went sledding in Canada a few years ago and it aes great fun and I used to keep horses with a lady called Karen who used to sled(?) with her Malamutes. There is a guy called Nando who is on a pet forum in England who scooters, I had forgotten all about him.I must have a go, will all dogs take to it or is it quite hard for them to learn? Lynn

I cant speak for all dogs. I suppose some are better suited than others but if you make it fun for pooch then i think you will be fine. The way we teach our dogs when they are young is to strap them to a bike sooter etc and get a family member or someone the dog likes to run off ahead when dogy Is high enough in drive let him go (and hold on) Dont give any commands till he stops sprinting unless he has a clear head. Huskys have one speed that is as fast as they can. Just keep it fun. Thanks for the compliments on my dogs. As long as their is breath in my lungs ile own huskys and dobes!
