hi everyone. my name is Ingrid and I have been working my dobe zoo in schutzhund since he was 14 weeks. he is soon to turn 2 in feb. I sort of stumbled into the sport looking for a obedience class. during my search for a class a local trainer said I really needed to go to see jan abbs in indiana. so off I went! walked in like a total idiot! lol! as I had never even seen schutzhund work in person.
she tested my pup on the spot and said he was perfect for the sport and wanted us to join. my puppy loved the play so much I couldnt tell him no.we are doing pretty good for newbees working with GSD and mals everyone laughs that I belong to the USA GSD ha! o-well I love my club and all its members it is worth the hours drive each way lol!

thanks bitten, I have loved dobermans my entire life! I also have loved to train dogs most of my life....so it was perfect that I stumbled into schutzhund! because I get to spend a ton of time doing what I have always loved. I wish there was another dobe in my club. I see the GSD's work.....and they seem to advance quicker then zoo and I. I realize I and zoo are behind the box so to say....because I am just learning what to do and how to train it......so that slows us down......but my dog is willing and is getting better right along with me. I only wish I had discovered this sport years ago! its funny because my zoo boy is 100% showlines but what the heck! I am not a show person and my zoo loves to work so we are going with what we both enjoy. who konws where it will get us. but I am 98% sure we will go for and get our bh soon. he is ready.......I just need to work the pattern to be sure I got it down lol!
