Congratulations to Mark and Enzo. Now on to perfecting Enzo's tracking so he can complete his SchH titles. (Mark has Enzo's obedience and protection coming along very nicely with Joel's superb help) Enzo relaxing after his BH and five hour trip home -

It's worth noting that Mark is a complete noob to SchH and wasn't even aware of any such dog trial sport prior to getting Enzo as an 8 week old puppy. Not only was Enzo his first very young puppy, Mark had never had a registered dog prior to Enzo, he had been adopting adults.

SturmHunde
Who are you and what is your relationship to Mark?
Congratulations to Mark and Enzo. That first BH can be one of the most difficult "titles" you ever earn. Best of Luck with the IPO I and beyond.

Hi Thomas, I'm Tom and Enzo is one of my five orphan survivors which I pulled through single-handedly. I've known Mark since about '06. I had to persuade Mark to take one of my boys but I made the effort to talk him into it because I knew how well he treated the two dogs he had at the time. Enzo's dam is Katja v. Mahuba and Katja suffered a serious injury while pregnant - I didn't think she was even going to make it to whelping. I had to give Katja three and one half weeks of 24/7 care prior to whelping so by the time the puppies were 8 weeks old I was pretty spent as you can imagine. I currently have Enzo's littermates Abby and Chico (Chico was recovered from a bad situation at 14 months old). Abby and Chico are currently in training for their BH but I'm in no big hurry. They are both very big sweethearts, very outgoing and they love people - but those Eschenhof/Nymphenburg genes are still predominant which makes training them both a challenge and a lot of fun.
ETA: Mark is going for a SchH 1 title next, not IPO.

Hi Tom
Sounds like the litter has had an up hill battle to survive? Best of luck with Abby and Chico too. What part of the world are you guy located? FYI There is no more Schutzhund as of last January. Everything is IPO (Schutzhund and VPG)

There are only three small clubs here locally (central Texas), two of them are only oriented towards GSD and the other which has some great helpers is pretty much not ever accepting new members (I keep wondering how there's ever going to be more interest in dog sports if the general rule is exclusion). Mark is located in southern California and has been fortunate enough to get into the club there where Joel is a helper and it's all Dobermanns.
