The author says that they are focusing on the research. He simply said I clearly had already shared his e-mail and did not give formal permission -- so I don't know what that means. I am going to go back and delete that post right now. BTW: to be clear I am not trying to undermine ANYONE's work on this issue. That being said it is COMPLEX!! Dr Meur's found linkages of certain a type of inheritence. It could be that what she has found is ONE contributor to a form of DCM in Dobermans -- and that alone or in combination with DCM forms. We really just can't tell by the results so far. And I am not in a position to comment on the science -- others are. And we need to be open as a community to listen to these other voices. The new German based paper notes that it looked at 170,000 in the genome. It does not state that it looked at the gene Dr Meur's has focused on. I can only assume as they have not stated this. The people doing this report, so far have not released this information -- I won't comment any more on this issue. anne
